Exit Readiness Program · Stage 2
Your value, tracked every quarter.
A year of quarterly monitoring against your Business Audit baseline, so you can see the effect of every improvement and catch problems while they are still small.
Why monitor
A valuation is a snapshot. Value is built quarter by quarter.
An audit tells you where you stand on one day. Annual Value Monitoring turns that audit into a living baseline. Every quarter we normalise your latest financials, update your valuation range and value driver scores, and track progress on your improvement roadmap.
You always know where you stand, you can see whether the work is paying off, and when the time comes to sell, the numbers a buyer will ask for are already clean, current and documented.
- Best for
- Owners who have completed the Business Audit and want to measure progress over time.
- Term
- Twelve months, renewing annually, with quarterly updates.
- Fee
- $7,500 per year, or $10,000 per year for Value Monitoring Plus with buyer vetting. Paid at signing and at each renewal.
- If we sell your business
- 100% of annual fees credited toward our commission.

Quarterly review meetings
A 60-minute virtual meeting after each of the first three updates to discuss what moved and why.
Roadmap tracking
Quarterly status on every item in your risk and improvement roadmap, so progress is measured, not assumed.
Year-end report
A written summary of the year with a refreshed valuation range and an updated exit readiness evaluation.
Annual review meeting
A 90-minute year-end session, virtual or in person, to set priorities for the year ahead.
Choose your plan
Monitor your value, or monitor it and guard it.
Owners of well-run businesses get approached. A competitor, a private equity group, a search fund, a stranger with a letter of intent. Value Monitoring Plus puts an experienced broker between you and every one of them, so you never have to guess whether an approach is serious, fundable or fairly priced.

Buyer vetting on Plus
An unsolicited offer is an opening move, not a gift.
Buyers who approach owners directly are counting on two things: that you have not had your business valued recently, and that you will be flattered enough to share information before asking hard questions. On Value Monitoring Plus, neither is true. You already know your number, and we ask the hard questions for you.
You stay in control. We never engage a buyer, share your information or enter a negotiation without your direction. If an approach turns out to be the right one, your audit, quarterly history and our assessment carry straight into a sale.
Refer the approach
A call, an email or a letter arrives. Forward it to us and say nothing more until we have looked.
We qualify the buyer
Who they are, who is behind them, what they have bought before, and whether they can fund a deal of your size.
We assess the offer
Price, structure and terms measured against your current dashboard valuation, not a number the buyer chose.
You decide
A clear recommendation to engage, counter or decline, and a confidential process if you choose to proceed.
The monitoring year
A simple rhythm that fits around running the business.
Dashboard setup
We build your dashboard from the audit baseline and give your team secure access.
Update and review
Upload your quarterly financials within 20 days of quarter end. We update the dashboard within ten business days and meet with you for an hour.
Year-end report
Your final package includes an annual supplement. We deliver the year-end report with a refreshed valuation range and readiness evaluation.
Annual review
A 90-minute session to review the year, reset priorities, and decide whether to keep building or begin preparing for a sale.
What your dashboard tracks
- Estimated valuation range and trend
- Trailing twelve-month SDE or adjusted EBITDA
- Revenue, gross margin and cash flow trends
- Value driver scorecard against your baseline
- Owner dependency and customer concentration
- Improvement roadmap status
- Exit readiness score
Additional metrics can be agreed at the outset. Each update is dated and reflects your most recent completed quarter; the dashboard is not a real-time feed.
Stage 1 · Business Audit
Monitoring starts with an audit.
Annual Value Monitoring measures your business against the baseline set in the Business Audit, so the audit always comes first.
Your investment works twice
Every dollar you spend on readiness counts toward your sale.
If you later engage The Exit Strategy Co. to sell your business and the sale closes, 100% of the fees you paid for the Business Audit and Annual Value Monitoring are credited against our commission. The work you do to understand and grow your value is never wasted, and the advisor who knows your business best is already in place when you are ready.
The credit is subject to a separate written listing engagement, applies only to commission owed to The Exit Strategy Co., has no cash value, and cannot exceed the commission owed.
Independent, and clear about what it is.
The audit and dashboard are planning tools built on the information you provide and on market data. They are not a certified appraisal, an audited financial statement, or legal, tax or investment advice. What they give you is an experienced, practical view of your business from people who have bought, built and sold companies of their own.
